New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program

If you are thinking about New Brunswick immigration, you should consider the New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program (NBPNP).

The NBPNP speeds up the immigration process for your permanent resident card. It allows New Brunswick to nominate applicants who qualify under provincially established criteria for Permanent Resident Status.

Successful applicants will receive a New Brunswick Provincial Nomination Certificate, which will speed-up the Canada Immigration Permanent Resident card application process.

Individuals nominated by the Government of New Brunswick, together with their spouse/common-law partner and dependent children, can apply for a permanent resident visa through CIC as a Provincial Nominee.

Under the NBPNP, there are two categories you can apply under:

  1. Skilled Worker
  2. Business Applicants

Skilled Worker

Applicants with Employer Support

  • You are between 22 and 55 years of age.
  • You have sufficient English and, or French language ability to fulfill your job duties
  • You have the education, qualifications and, or licenses needed to fulfill your job duties
  • You are a permanent full-time employee of a New Brunswick company
  • Your job is represented in one of the following National Occupation Classification (NOC) skill levels: Skill levels O, A, B or Skill level C, Category 1, 3, 7, 8, 9 or Skill level D, Category 1, 3, 7, 8, 9
  • Your job is in an area of skill shortage
  • You score a minimum of 50 points in the selection factors. The selection criteria for this is set into five factors: age, language skills, education, adaptability and business experience.

Applicants with Family Support

  • You are a close relative of the Family Supporter. You, or your spouse, must be a non-dependent child, brother, sister, niece, nephew or grandchild of the Family Supporter.
  • You are between 22 and 50 years of age
  • You have sufficient English and, or French language ability to settle in New Brunswick and fulfill your job duties in your intended occupation.
  • You have the education, qualifications and, or licenses needed to settle in New Brunswick and fulfill your job duties in your intended occupation.
  • You have at least two years of continuous full-time work experience within the last five years, in your intended occupation in New Brunswick.
  • Your job is represented in one of the following National Occupation Classification (NOC) skill levels: Skill levels O, A, B or Skill level C, Category 1, 3, 7, 8, 9 or Skill level D, Category 1, 3, 7, 8, 9
  • You have the funds to settle in New Brunswick. The Applicant must have a minimum of $10,000 CAD and $2,000 CAD for each accompanying family member.

Business Applicants

  • You are between 22 and 50 years of age.
  • You have sufficient English and, or French language ability to actively manage a business in New Brunswick.
  • You have, at a minimum, been awarded a high school diploma
  • You will live, and operate a business in New Brunswick.
  • You have relevant and proven management experience in three of the last five years.
  • You demonstrate an understanding of the business environment in New Brunswick.
  • You will prepare a business plan of economic benefit to New Brunswick.
  • You have a personal net worth of at least $300,000 CAD.
  • You will submit a signed copy of the Deposit Agreement and a conditionally refundable deposit of $75,000 CAD, prior to nomination.
  • You score a minimum of 50 points in the selection factors. The selection criteria for this is set into five factors: age, language skills, education, adaptability and business experience.
