Introduction
If you are thinking about immigration to Newfoundland and Labrador, you should consider the Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program (NLPNP).

The NLPNP speeds up the immigration process for your permanent resident card. It allows Newfoundland and Labrador to nominate applicants who qualify under provincially established criteria for Permanent Resident cards.

Individuals nominated by the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, together with their spouse and dependent children, can immigrate and apply for a permanent resident card through Canadian Citizenship and Immigration as a Provincial Nominee.

To immigrate under the NLPNP, you must qualify for one of the following streams:
• Skilled worker
• International Graduate
• Family Connections

Skilled Worker
This category is for skilled workers who have a guaranteed offer of employment from a Newfoundland and Labrador employer, or are already working in the province on a valid Work Permit.
In order to qualify you must:
•have a full-time job offer from a Newfoundland and Labrador employer, or a job offer that has compensation in the form of a salary and benefits package that meets provincial employment standards and prevailing wage rates.
•have a Citizenship and Immigration Canada Work Permit or is entitled to apply for one.
•have the qualifications, training, skills, and/or accreditation required for the job.
•can demonstrate that you have sufficient settlement funds and financial resources to successfully establish yourself and any dependents in Newfoundland and Labrador.
•your employer (or future employer) can demonstrate a need for your skill set.
•can demonstrate sufficient English or French language capability to perform your employment duties.

International Graduate
This category is for recent graduates who have a Post-Graduate Work Permit and a job or job offer from a Newfoundland and Labrador employer.
In order to qualify you must:
•have graduated from a recognized Canadian post-secondary institution in the past two years or apply during the last semester of completing your degree or diploma.
•have receive a certificate, diploma, or degree from a program of at least 2 years in length.
•have obtained a Post-Graduation Work Permit.
•have the necessary qualifications and English or French language ability for the job being offered.
•have sufficient settlement funds.
•have obtained a permanent full time job offer from a Newfoundland and Labrador employer or you are currently working in a full-time position that is either temporary or on contract and can demonstrate that the position has potential to be extended.

Family Connections
This category is for individuals who have a family member living in Newfoundland and Labrador who is willing to sponsor their immigration to the province. Eligible Sponsors must be related to the Relative in one of the following ways: Parent, Sibling, Grandparent, Niece/Nephew, Uncle/Aunt, Sister/Brother-in-Law, or First Cousin.

In addition, the Sponsor must also meet the following conditions:
•Be a permanent resident of Canada for at least 12 months, or be a Canadian Citizen.
•Be residing in Newfoundland and Labrador for at least 12 consecutive months at the time that your Relative’s application is submitted to the NLPNP.
•Must reside in the province on a full-time basis and have a commitment to continue to reside in the province on a full-time basis.
•Be able to prove your Relative’s relationship to you.
•Be financially self-supporting (have not received financial support through the Newfoundland and Labrador Income Support Program, Employment Insurance, or the Resettlement Assistance Program within the last twelve (12) months).
•Be willing to sign a Declaration and Affidavit of Support which includes your commitment to a settlement plan for the Relative.
